Cookie statement

Our website uses cookies (hereinafter: “cookies”). These are files that store information in your web browser. Your consent is required for this.

We use cookies in accordance with Act C of 2003 on Electronic Communications, Act CVIII of 2001 on Certain Issues of Electronic Commerce Services and Information Society Services, as well as the applicable regulations of the European Union.

Websites operating within the countries of the European Union must request users’ consent to the use of cookies and to storing them on the user’s computer or other device.

1. Cookie use policy
This policy applies to the cookies used on the domain name website.

2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small files that contain letters and numbers. A cookie is a tool for exchanging information between the web server and the user’s browser. These data files cannot be executed, do not contain spyware or viruses, and do not provide access to the contents of users’ hard drives.

3. What can cookies be used for?
The information sent by cookies helps internet browsers to be recognized more easily, so users receive relevant and “personalized” content. Cookies make browsing more convenient, including meeting online data security needs and enabling relevant advertising. With the help of cookies, website operators can also prepare anonymous statistics on visitors’ browsing habits. Using these, the website editors can further personalize the appearance and content of the site.

4. What types of cookies may you encounter?

Websites may use two types of cookies:

  • Session (temporary) cookies, which remain on your device until you leave the website.

  • Persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a longer period of time depending on your browser settings, or until you delete them.

  • Third-party cookies, which are placed in your browser by a third party (e.g. Google Analytics). These are stored in your browser if the visited website uses services provided by that third party.

Strictly necessary session (session-id) cookies
The use of these cookies is essential for navigating the website and for the operation of the website’s functions. Without accepting these, the website or certain parts of it may not appear at all or may appear incorrectly.

Analytical or performance cookies
These cookies help distinguish visitors to the website and collect data about how visitors behave on the website. With these cookies, for example, the website can remember your login when you request it. They do not collect information that can personally identify you; data are stored in an aggregated and anonymous form (e.g. Google Analytics).

Functional cookies
The purpose of these cookies is to improve the user experience. They detect and store, for example, which device you used to open the website, or the data you previously provided and asked to be stored: for instance, automatic login, selected language, or the user changes you made to text size, font type, or other customizable elements of the site. These cookies do not track your activities on other websites. However, the information they collect may include personal data that you have shared.

Targeting or advertising cookies
These cookies enable websites to provide information (marketing) that best matches your interests. Your explicit consent is required for this. These cookies collect detailed information about your browsing habits.

5. Do cookies contain personal data?
Most cookies do not contain personal information and cannot be used to identify users. The stored data are necessary for more convenient browsing, and they are stored in such a way that unauthorized persons cannot access them.

6. Why are cookies important on the internet?
The role of cookies is to make browsing more convenient for users, as they help set the advertisements and content displayed to users based on their browsing history. Disabling or restricting cookies may make some websites unusable. However, disabled or restricted cookies do not mean that users will not see advertisements; only that the displayed advertisements and content will not be “personalized”, meaning they will not be tailored to the user’s needs and interests.

Some examples of cookie use:

  • Displaying content, services, and products tailored to the user’s needs.

  • Providing offers based on the user’s interests.

  • Remembering login when you request it (stay logged in).

  • Remembering child protection filters for online content (family mode options, safe search functions).

  • Limiting the frequency of advertisements, i.e. limiting the number of times an advertisement is shown to a user on a given website.

  • Displaying advertisements relevant to the user.

  • Geotargeting.

7. Security- and data-protection-related functions

Cookies are not viruses or spyware. Since they are simple text files, they cannot be executed and therefore are not considered programs. However, it is possible that information may be hidden in a cookie for other (malicious) purposes, and in such cases the cookie may function as spyware. For this reason, antivirus and anti-malware programs may continuously mark cookies for deletion.

Since the device used for internet browsing and web servers communicate continuously, sending data back and forth, if an attacker (hacker) interferes with this process, they may extract the information stored by cookies. One possible cause of this is improperly encrypted internet (WiFi) settings. Exploiting this vulnerability, data can be extracted from cookies.

8. Managing and deleting cookies
Cookies can be deleted or disabled in your browser. By default, browsers allow cookies to be placed. This can be disabled in the browser settings, and existing cookies can also be deleted. In addition, you can set your browser to notify you when it sends a cookie to your device. It is important to emphasize, however, that disabling or restricting these files will degrade the browsing experience and may cause errors in the functioning of the website.

Configuration options are usually found in your browser’s “Options” or “Settings” menu. Each browser is different, so to find the appropriate settings, please use your browser’s “Help” menu and/or the links below to modify cookie settings:

To disable anonymous Google Analytics cookies, you can install a so-called “Google Analytics plug-in” (add-on) in your browser, which prevents the website from sending information about you to Google Analytics. You can find more information on this at the following links:
